Andrea Guariso
I am an Associate Professor at the University of Milan-Bicocca, an invited researcher at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL) (MIT), and an affiliated researcher at Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME) (Trinity College Dublin), Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) (Bocconi University), MISUM – Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Stockholm School of Economics), Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano (University of Milan), and International Security and Development Center (ISDC).
Before joining Milan-Bicocca I was an Assistant Professor (with tenure) at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). I hold a Ph.D, in Economics from KU Leuven (Belgium), and both an MSc and a BSc in Economics and Socal Sciences from Bocconi University (Italy).
My research has been financially supported by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), International Growth Center (IGC), UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Fondazione Cariplo, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among others. I also worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission (DG Development).
Research Fields: Development Economics, Political Economics, Health Economics, Applied Microeconomics.
