Andrea Guariso

I am an applied economist with a prime interest in development and political economics. I am currently Senior Assistant Professor of Economics (RTD-B) at University of Milan-Bicocca. I was previously (tenured) Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin.

I am an invited researcher at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL), and I am affiliated with Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME) (Trinity College Dublin), Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) (Bocconi University), MISUM – Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Stockholm School of Economics), and Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano (University of Milan).

My research has been financially supported by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), International Growth Center (IGC), UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Fondazione Cariplo, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, among others. I also worked as a consultant for the World Bank and the European Commission (DG Development).
