Andrea Guariso
I am an applied economist with prime interest in development and political economics. I am currently Senior Assistant Professor of Economics (RTD-B) at University of Milan-Bicocca.
I am also affiliated with Trinity College Dublin, where I was (tenured) Assistant Professor over the period 2016-2021 (currently on leave) and with Trinity Impact Evaluation unit (TIME), Laboratory for Effective Anti-poverty Policies (LEAP) (Bocconi University), MISUM – Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (Stockholm School of Economics), and Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano (University of Milan).
My research has been financially supported, among others, by Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), International Growth Center (IGC), UK’s Department for International Development (DFID), Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Fondazione Cariplo, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I also worked at the European Commission (DG Development) and as a consultant for the World Bank.
